Dear Pat,

I am reading again. It has been many years since my divorce and I finally have the real desire to connect with a book. It has been so long since my concentration has been able to handle an outside thought. I have read a few of your books, and I am so looking forward to your new book "South of Broad". Currently, starting on Chapter 1. I will let you know how this journey goes. Wish me luck. Lind

Just finished SOB. I'm 79--what an entertaining adventure reading this book. I've come a long way in my life and claim to be freethinking...you know how that goes!! What finally happened to Cannon's cats??4

Pat Conroy changed my life! You opened my heart & mind to reading again when my sister introduced me to Prince of Tides. I was too interested in other things & thought reading a bore - but you proved otherwise. I've since devoured every word you've written & I am blessed as a result. I had just finished S of Broad before heading to Charleston last summer - & I fell head over heels in love w/the city thru your eyes/ words. I plan to get to Fripp & Beaufort next to meet you & your family - we can dream, right? So sorry to hear about your medical issues, but as someone who also has subsidized many physicians' lifestyles, I have learned that faith, humor & hope are necessary as is tenacity to be your own advocate. You are in my prayers for full recovery & abundance of blessed life.

I just finished South of Broad and it was like drinking a fine bottle of wine on a cool Charleston night; I savored every word and wanted more at the end. I adore your voice.

I took Pat's advice and bought "Red Hook Road" and I am lost in reading this wonderful book.
Thanks for the book suggestion Pat!

Just finished South Of Broad and want to say Thank You to Mr. Conroy for such a great South Carolina story. It included many events I experienced growing up in SC, as I am about the age of Toad. Looking forward to a follow up story on the characters and the tails of continuing lives.

Beach Music and Prince of Tides are my favorites although I have read all your books. Was down visiting my aunt on Pawleys Island last year and went surfing with my cousin only to drop by Litchfield Books at the end of the day to find out you had a book signing there. Seriously bummed me out, best wishes for the future.

Absolutely thrilled to be reading South of Broad... was wondering when you were going to appear again... don't take too long next time.... All of your novels have given me a yearning to visit Charlestone, Georgia and Savannah and I will one day.. Its really beautiful - south of broad... My son is a fan since he was twenty and has read them all... the great santini being his favourite... don't ask but I think it help?

I read about Conrack years ago and loved it. I've gotten around to most of the rest over the years. I put off "My Losing Season" as I'm not much of a sports fan, but just finished it and it turned out to be a favorite. It was so touching and it was the real you, not the fictional you.
Laughed so much listening to the cookbook! It was good to hear it in your own voice. I remember meeting Frank Stitt once in "Joe" Bar in Birmingham years ago and he said " I'm going to open a really good restaurant" (We really desperately needed one too)
You were so funny on The Windancer Benefit too.
Well, only have "Lords of Discipline" & "The Boo" left.
Hope you have something else in the pipeline.
