Thank you for South of Broad. I am grateful for the opportunity to live, however briefly, in the worlds you create with your words. South of Broad was no exception.

I have just finished reading "South of Broad", and am in awe of what a great author Pat Conroy is!! I loved "South of Broad"... the plot, the characters, the descriptions of Charleston... and although I've read all his books, I find "South of Broad" the best yet. It held my rapt attention from the first to the last page. I have to admit, I didn't want it to end. I think I may be "in love" with Leo King and his Charleston friends!! Thanks so much, Pat Conroy, for sharing your talent with your readers.

I am a long time Pat Conroy fan. I loved Prince of Tides and Beach Music. I could hardly put down South of Broad and am so sorry that I've finished it. I feel like I know all of the characters so well. I'm ready for a sequel!! Please don't wait so long for the next book!! I adore Charleston and can't wait to visit again. It is truly one of America's most beautiful cities. Everyone should visit it through your eyes at least once.

I've read all of Pat's books and loved them. I purchased South of Broad the day it was released and couldn't put it down - read it in 2 days.

South of Broad

Through chapter 4 page 74 and have already determined to read it again (cannot recall ever having done this except for a Pat Conroy book). Thank you for preserving the artful use of the English language. No one else does it quite the same way or as well.

Brilliant book... I am so sad that I have finished it. I read it as slowly as I could but it's finished. I shall miss them all. But I am going back to Charleston and see it through your eyes this time.

I have read every novel, of course, as every good "fan" should...but, I've read Beach Music continuously since my first read in 1996 and have decided that Jack McCall will be my next husband *smile* It is the most flawless novel of our generation, poetic, epic, beautiful.

I had promised myself that after the long wait for South of Broad that I would read and savor it slooowly, but I read it in 2 days, and fell in love with Leo & Starla & Molly...etc... I don't know that it will be read back to back the way I've read Beach Music, but I think I'll revisit them the same way I've revisited the Wingos and Meechums. Thank you, Mr. Conroy

I so love reading your books. In fact, one of my favorite quotations comes from, "The Prince of Tides". Thanks for another adventure.

Pat, Just finished your cook book. A truly wonderful tour of Southern cooking. I just don't understand how you could write the chapter on Vidalia Onions and not include Vidalia Onion Pie. Your tongue will beat your front teeth out trying to get to a slice. A wonderful book to work through to the very last page.

My father was a China Service Marine before WWII. Anyone that has been raised by a Marine can sure understand where you are coming from. I have read most of your books over the years and may just start over again.
