Just finished South of Broad (A christmas gift from my mother) It moved me in many ways, thank you for that. I never thougt of Hurricane Hugo as a single tear from God, but after living though it it seems to fit more than you will ever know.

I just finished reading "South of Broad". It was a compelling book, and I felt that I knew the characters well. I also enjoyed the various places visited. The descriptions made those places come alive for me.
Thank you for a great story.

Thank you so much for South of Broad. I have been a fan since I was the wife of a military aviator and read The Great Santini - I mailed it to my husband who was stationed in Korea at the time. As an expatriate Southerner living on the West Coast, I can say that your book was like a drink of water quenching a great thirst. Please don't wait so long to write again! Best wishes...

Bravo and welcome back, Mr. Conroy. "South of Broad" is a true Pat Conroy novel - unforgettable characters, a heart wrenching story, passages and words that jump off the page. I love the way you embrace and celebrate the town eccentrics and honor your southern heritage in all of your books. Thank you once again for a GREAT read. I hope more is coming soon.

Pat,
Tears are streaming down my face - I have just finished South of Broad and may I compliment you once again on your brilliant writing. As an aspiring author who has only lived in the south for 25 years and has a northern German-American, CATHOLIC upbringing, I could never deliver the smooth, subtle, poignant prose you have crafted in ths story although I certainly aspire to do so. Thank you for sharing your talent and gift with me, a fan of yours for many years. The story touched me at such a deep level beginning with my faith and 25 years experience with the Old South.

Just finished SOB, I lived in the Charleston area from 86 to 99. I never realized how much I loved the place till we moved. I try to explain my Love for the place to others and just can't seem to put it into words. So when I started the book, and read your description of Love for the place. I said YES, that's it exactly! I plan to share your book with my coworkers and am always telling them. I'd love to take them on a trip to Charleston anytime. I was so surprised at the people and places mentioned in the book that are real to the area. I now have a way to visit the land I love at any time of day. Thank you so much! May God Bless you and keep you well.

Ever since I read The Prince of Tides I have been a fan. But you blew me away with Beach Music. What an unbelievable read. I will take that story everywhere with me. Never forget Jack and Leah and Shyla and all she and her parents went through. Am reading South of Broad which my husband ordered off the internet as it is not yet published in Europe and am thoroughly enjoying your prose again. Please don't take so long to write another. Your biggest Irish fan xx

I read Prince of Tides and Beach Music once a year, every year, and I cry when I finish them.
Thank you.

I have read, and loved, everything you have had published. Nothing takes me home like a Pat Conroy book. I have one complaint - you don't write as fast as I read.
