While Prince of Tides remains my favorite book EVER, South of Broad runs a mighty close second!

I loved the characters, the story, and of course the lyrical prose from our genius wordsmith. Thank you so much for what you do!

I read all of Pat's books. Loved Broad Street...as always one gets so involved with the people in his books. You forget they are not your friends in real life.
Great Book and look forward to the next one

As everyone else who is your fan, I love your books. I bought and started reading South of the Border the day it was released. I reread Lords of Discipline a couple of weeks ago. Now I want to reread all of your books. It was a thrill to meet you at SCASL a few years ago. I was in the long line to get your autograph--you signed The Boo and my second copy of Beach Music. Looking forward to your next book--I'll be there the day it is released.

South of Broad is our book club selection this month and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I'm reading older ones now -- in the midst of Water is Wide and going to buy another copy to send to my daughter in the Peace Corps who is teaching English on a small island in the Pacific.

Thanks for the blood, sweat, and tears you pour into your writing. Nobody does it better.

You keep reminding me of my love for the South. I grew up in Virginia Beach which was once a lot like the coastal towns of SC. The VB I loved has long been converted to something much different. Your books take me back home, to the one I remember that no longer exists except when I am listening to the sound of beach music. Thank you for reminding me. Home is a deep memory.

I reread Beach Music several times a year (my Favorite Book of All Time) and found myself tearing up as I read about about Leah and Lucy's love of the sea turtles in light of the gulf oil spill. I wondered to myself if you were particularly devastated for the marine life you have lovingly described in your novels, because I'm finding that I definitely am as a result of your books.

I sincerely hope you visit DC someday, I would probably faint if I got a chance to meet you but it would be worth it.

I love your writing, Mr. Conroy! It takes me back home to South Carolina in both atmospheric & wonderful ways and also deep & moving ways. I took the day off when South Of Broad released, went as soon as the bookstore opened to buy it and sat immediately down into a bookstore chair and started reading. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
