Mr. Conroy - I was on jury duty in Atlanta about 20 years ago, and I was reading Prince of Tides - I was so entralled by it, I never looked up from the book. On my way out, you stopped me and said, "If you'd like. I'll sign that for you." I was stunned and in awe of this literary giant suddenly materializing in front of me! I often wonder what that must have been like for you -- what greater compliment than to anonymously see someone devour your words for the first time! You should've seen me reading South of Broad! Thanks for your amazing contributions to literature!

Pat... you are a true literary genius! I love All of your books. I met you on several occasions in Charleston. One connection we share is basketball and Belmont Abbey. Keep on writing and sharing your life through words. I can't wait till Nov. You are the best!

I have chosen South of Broad for our October book selection. I loved reading that book and sent it on to my daughter who lives in Charleston, SC.

Pat,
Are we really cousins? I grew up in Armuchee and your grandfather lived there at one time. Janis Owens says that she and I are cousins because her Mother was born in Armuchee.

Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers, that the mind can never break off from the journey.
Pat Conroy, The Prince of Tides
You said it all in this eloquent paragraph...well done my friend.

Your books are such treasures! Each one has a permanent place on my book shelf!! I pull one back out ever so often to re-read and never fail to enjoy thoroughly! Thank you, Pat Conroy!
