I was not aware that you had published another book until I found "My Reading Life" at Full Circle Bookstore in OKC. I read it straight through and loved it, as I always love your books. Wish you could have been here this weekend for the nation's biggest used booksale by OKC Friends of the Library. I will never catch up with you but I bought several classics you recommended in your book. Congrats on another page-turner--hope you come to OKC soon!

I know people who are accomplished and have acheived fame, always feel like people still want something from them. I don't. I just want to say Thank You for giving me a great diversion from my life into another world, whether it be great humour, great drama, or great insanity. I need to get a break and you gave me one. Thank You, and tomorrow I start on my second book, a good idea? Take Care Mr. Patroy.

Just finished reading your letter to us dated 2009 and have to say - don't worry about anyone being funnier than you. You delight me every time. Hope you're well.

I love your writing and I'm especially in love with MY READING LIFE. I've been a bookseller and worked in corporate publishing. I have promoted your works since I first read PRINCE OF TIDES. I re-read your fiction for the beauty you gently tender to your readers. I find it hard to discover any writers except for Anne Rivers Siddons who I can say I love and whose works I can happily inhabit. Thank you, Pat Conroy for all your books including the wonderful cookbook. I gave my son your Losing Season when he began college and was in ROTC. Having just read your chapter on military brats, I wonder what I would be called as the worrying mom of a soldier of these current wars. I take some comfort and some courage in what you wrote in that chapter.

Pat, I have always been inspired by your books. Prince of Tides and Beach Music are particular favorites ( I even named my daughter, Shyla) because they bring back memories of my childhood. I grew up on the beaches of the Carolinas and your writing is a quick escape back to those salty shores. Thank you for sharing your stories.

As I read other authors today, I only appreciate you and your love/dance with the English language more!! Your God-given gift of story-telling combined with your other "loves" set you completely apart in a category all your own. While others begin to quickly/haphazardly whip out another book to meet schedules, you give us the enormous gift of South of Broad. Your love of the language is so evident throughout each of your novels; but then along comes a sentence or paragraph that is so beautiful, one stops and reads that over again, and yet again! Thank you so very much for sharing your very rare and precious gift with us - the readers.

What a great way to enjoy the day reading, My Reading Life.
Thank you Pat. It is a luminous and satisfying visit with you
on this day when we want winter to end and spring to arrive.

Hi there,
I have read and loved all of your books, although my favourite is Beach Music, I adore the dark humour and interwoven stories, as well as the fragility.

I am currently reading the Cookbook, and although halfway through, can already tell this is going to be a much loved book, as I really don't want to finish it! Your love affair with all things food, and travel, as well the stories, which tie everything together is inspiring, I may have to don the apron again.

Please continue writing, your style speaks to my heart.

Regards

Michelle
