Pat, our son is getting married on beach POA #4 on Tuesday and we have a number of family members visiting the island who are fans of your since my introduction to them of your marvelous works.
Your books grace the bookshelves and are part of the back drop to the wedding cake/reception ceremony.
Please join us for an intimate ceremony and celebration at 6 pm and following back at the beach house! You would be delighted with our group. Later in the week we will be watching your movies and celebrating with a casual Pat Conroy trivia night.
Sincerely,
Gayla Thomas

I'm a little late in reading this, but Pat, Beach Music took my heart and soul on every turn imaginable. Thank you so much for a wonderful book.....I didn't want it to end. My son lives in Charleston and now when I visit, I will be looking for Leah and Jack, and of course John Hardin, around every corner!

Just finally finished My Losing Season. That was quite a book. Very very hard for me to read. And I realize you just barely touched on some of the issues you wrote about in other books. Thanks for writing it. I'm not a big basketball person but it helped shed light on the whole "team effort" effect that those of us who aren't on a team can't quite grasp. I really liked the last 15% (read it on a Kindle) as you told about the process of writing it, interviewing people, etc. It was great to hear about everyone and what happened to them. Thanks for writing it and pouring yourself into it, as you do everything!

The Prince of Tides was one of the best books I have ever read. It could have been written about my family. I especially identified with Tom and my sister was Savannah to a tee.

I identified several of my family members with the characters in the book and when I gave it to my sister to read, she got them spot on and agreed with me it was one of the best books ever written. High praise indeed coming from her.

I also thoroughly enjoyed The Great Santini.

I am deeply sad about two events-one being the sorrow of Mr. Conroy over his daughter and her absence in his life. The next is more personal-that I have not been in the presence of this writer who has touched my soul deeply. I hope future appearances will allow me to rest my eyes on him and know I have had my wish to thank him in person.

Mr. Conroy... I enjoyed meeting you several years ago at a book signing in Augusta, Ga. I have been reading your work since I was in 10th grade and am about to celebrate my 20th class reunion! I am so looking forward to you writing about teaching again as your book, The Water is Wide, inspired me as a teacher. I just reread parts of your cookbook today and if I don't hurry and get to Italy, I might just keel over!!! I was looking for something to cook to take on our family vacation next week! Keep writing because your words reach something deep inside all of us Southerners the way no other author can.

Just finished "My Reading Life" and am in love with it and the words within. Such fine craftsmanship of the English language... if only I could write like that!!

I have enjoyed reading all your books. It probably helps to be Irish Catholic to enjoy your humor. THE LORDS OF DISCIPLINE was insightful as I had three mids at USNA a while back.
