Mr. Conroy, your interview at the KY Authors Forum tonight was a joy. You've been my favorite author since 1990, my freshman year of college, when I read The Prince of Tides. I named my gorgeous calico cat Conroy McJagger in your honor. To see you in person is truly a highlight of my life. I'd gush more, but I bought The Boo (which I remember searching for in vain in my local library) and must dig in STAT. Thank you from a true admirer.

A dream come true happened last night - by the grace of God we arrived in Beaufort on a bicycle tour and noticed the USCB banner - my husband got us tickets for last nights event and a chance question got us last moment tickets for the reception. I got to hear and then meet Pat Conroy - my favorite author of all time. When we return to our home in California we'll send a donation for the USCB improvement project, that said my seat was great and the theatre one of the best I have been in. A highlight of my life - an evening I will cherish along with the photos with Mr. Conroy. THANKS! is hardly enough.

I am a librarian and walked in our workroom one night this week and there on the new book cart sat a dozen copies of "The Death of Santini." I did not know that you had a new book coming out and I felt like it was Christmas! My hands itched to get my hands on a copy and start reading! I'll see you at your book signing in Columbia!

Mr. Conroy, You are a brilliant author. And you use your gift well. I thank you for much more than your beautifully written books. I thank you for your thoughts beautifully shared. I have never believed "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." I do believe the emotions and understanding you have conveyed in your books, and will continue to convey, have made a great difference to so many of us. Thank you.

My Reading Life - Wept my way to work listening Pat Conroy reading his own elegant prose. Just the phrasing and use of language is enough to bring me to make my eyes brim (as they are now). Looking forward to The Death of Santini. So happy you have found the strength to write again.

Mr. Conroy, I am a huge fan and would love it if you could come to the DC area. Your books are treasures to me! It was my dad who first introduced me to your writing through The Water is Wide and The Great Santini and I've been a fan ever since. You are a truly wonderful writer whether or not you will ever believe it. Thank you for the many hours of joyful reading you have given me!

So many times I will finish a passage and then close my eyes and enjoy the prose, then read it again. Your writing is a lush and amazing experience for me. Can't wait to see you in Beaufort and have the opportunity to buy Death of Santini! Love that little bookstore in downtown Beaufort!!

I just finished rereading The Prince of Tides. Years ago, this book introduced me to your writings. Since I first read it, I have bought and read every book you have written. I had forgotten what a wonderful story this is. You are the BEST and remain my favorite author! Can't help wondering how much of The Prince of Tides came from your actual experiences and how much of it was fictional. Keep writing and I will keep buying. I am looking forward to The Death of Santini.
