Loved your new book. Mostly cause it so closely mirrors my life, but yours was written so eloquently, whereas mine sits in a locked corner of my mind - rarely opened for discussion. My brother's "self inflicted death" at 31, followed by a funeral that was oddly similar to yours was so interesting to me and I felt like Ii was chatting with you. Thank you - have always enjoyed your work.

Just finished THE DEATH OF SANTINI. I'm exhausted and overcome and full of love and tears and joy and sadness. Thank you for another great read. I've read every one of your books and was enthralled by them all. You're the best, Pat Conroy!!! Thank you for sharing your intimate life with your readers!

I received a phone call from my daughter Rachael who lives in Beaufort SC while she was Christmas shopping a few years back. She said "Mom, Do you have Pat Conroy's new cookbook?" I told her not yet. She said, "I am here in the bookstore on mainsteet in Beaufort and he is signing this new book but he only has one left and the cover is missing. I know how you love him and I will get it signed for you. I was giddy! Needless to say I could not wait for this present. When I opened it on Christmas morning Pat had signed "The bare, naked, uncovered Pat Conroy" Thank you Mr. Conroy..you always have a way of bringing a smile to my face and heart! Best Wishes from your diehard fan, Phyllis.

Greetings! I just finished reading My Reading Life on audio (with you as the reader) and had to stop during my roadtrip to buy the book. Fantastic! I love books about books by people who love them.

At the end of the audio there was a short interview with you where you talked about everyone loving a story. So true! And that you were always reading for good stories. I'd like to be presumptive in suggesting one (and would love to know what you think of it after reading it): Island of the World by Michael O'Brien. That ranked one of the best books I've ever read -- one that changes you.

Thanks for sharing your talent and stories!

Please Pat, I am begging you, COME TO THE BAY AREA! Loved Death of Santini so much. Bought audio and regular, and book for my IPAD. We need a splash of low country out here! Much love to you and your family this new year.

I just finished, Death of Santini, I was amazed that all the children forgave their parents and loved them so strongly. I have lost sleep over this book remembering incidents from my life. My Irish dad was very similar to your Santini. This was a moving book and hard to put down. I love your honest writing.

Pat, heard you on Diane Rehm the other day. Remember that your father wouldn't let you come up to the UofM when you play Toledo? Now I understand the situation better. I should have come down to the game. Dan

I've just finished reading "The Death of Santini". It's another superb offering from Pat. I've been a fan of Pat's since the release of "The Lords of Discipline", my personal favorite. Mr. Conroy's affinity for the Carolina Low Country strikes a special Chord with me. All of his works are powerful and very poignant. Thanks and All the Best.

Love The Death of Santini and My Reading Life. Love the Forsyth County library and their audio selection . Other wise I would never have been introduced to your books. Plan on reading all your other books. The difference in what you remember about you parents and what your siblings remember reminds me of me and my brothers. The difference being my brothers thought mom was so mean I as the the baby girl, very pampered, remember being scared of her wrath but was tortured by my brother 6 years older than me. Sitting on my chest hovering over me calling me a cry baby and saying " spit on me ". And me spitting on myself. You have great courage to tell your story and deal with all the criticism. Long winded thank you! DD
