Dear Mr Conroy

May I begin with what is most dearest to my heart Thank You. All your books have made my heart beat faster, made me stay up at night, miss bus and train stations, however your latest book has made me re-evaluate my whole life and long held beliefs. Your honesty I cherish more than words can convey (in my case anyway). I wish you love that doesn't hurt and a hand that holds yours. Many thanks for everything, you made my life better. Warm wishes Liz Rodriguez

Thank you for The a Death if Santini. Your writing is so very powerful that I become an emotional wreck. Your father so reminds me of mine that I find your work painful but I always read all you have written. I look forward to your next book. Again, thank you. Philip Kazan

Mr. Conroy,

I am nearly finished with the Death of Santini. I had planned on reading "The Great Santini" for years - but tend to read more biography and history than fiction. I read the Great Santini in preparation and thoroughly enjoyed it. I plan to read all of your works in the next couple of years. Your family reminds me very much of mine - especially the miners from rural Alabama. The stories of how grand the Woodford clan had been "when it virtually ruled" Wales has been very difficult to verify - as was your mother's view of her early life. Thanks for some great books.

George.

I just finished The Death of Santini and I cannot tell you how much I loved it. Your writing is so extraordinary and beautiful. As another person mentioned, I read it slowly to savor every word. Such an honest and courageous book! I am only sad that I have finished it... I have already read all of your other books so what will I read now? Thank you, thank you, for this gift to the world. And please, write another book soon. But no pressure.. :)

Pat, I enjoyed reading your latest book "Death of the Great Santini" as it reminded me, as all your work has, of my father and mother. I'm glad you're done writing about them, I think it's time for me to put them to rest as well. Thanks again and God Speed!

I picked up "The Death of Santini" on Sat, Feb 1 and it is now almost 5pm on Sunday and I am almost finished. I am touched by all of your books , but most affedted as I read about Tom, for I have a friend of over 50 years deteriorating with paranoid schizophrenia and I am feeling the hopelesness of being able to help. Your words are so powerful. Thank you.

Mr. Conroy, It is a pleasure to read your books. Emotional brain food of epic proportions. Word & phrases now mashed into daily language. Like the old song goes:"my heart there rings a melody of love." Love for Pat Conroy's gift of sharing his journey.
