You are my favorite writer and wait anxiously for any new books. I just heard about your diagnosis on the morning news and wanted to wish you well. As a budding Social Worker, I am interning at Cancer Support Community- Gilda's Club and would recommend this kind of support to you if one is nearby. Be well, keep writing. Your books are a gift and your legacy to us all.

I wrote Pat Conroy a letter 13 years ago after reading excerpts of MY LOSING SEASON to my HS basketball team before our games. The kids loved it and many went out and bought the book.

After having such a positive experience, I wrote Mr. Conroy in c/o his publisher more on a lark than anything, and to my astonishment, a month later I received the most amazing letter a person could ever imagine. A long, soulful, hand written reply from him that still thrills me every time I read it.

I shared it with my players, city kids who many lived a tough life, and they in unison clapped when I was done.

I kept a diary during my 40 years of coaching. It was just published and I am going to send Mr. Conroy a copy.

I have been a fan of yours for years and have read all of your books. My favorite is 'Prince of Tides'. I have published my first novel about the Holocaust entitled 'From Cardinals to Crows' and would like to send you a copy. Please send me an address to mail it to you. I would appreciate your reading it and giving me your opinion. It was published by Tate Publishing Company and was released January 12, 2016. Thank you and please keep writing.

Patrick Conroy's a game changer. I bought my first ball, bat & glove to play in a local sports club; my first basketball and 4 maybe 5 more dribbling the pimples off in solitary basketball drills, many in Nauck neighborhood; ball drills, many in Nauck neighborhood; my first soccerball which I gave to a young family touring the states two years ago only after hours of mock play and kicking it around, me, two boys, and their daddy and after playing a mock soccer game all at fifty or more years. I am 61 now, and Conroy's (My Reading Life), after only two chapters is tearing my heart out, because mom is from Bennetsville, South Carolina.

I've read all of Patrick Conroy's books, but have been most recently inspired by "My Losing Season"

Of your many fans, I know I must be the most appreciative of your literary voice and your style of writing. I am forever taken by the vivid experience of entering into one of your novels. I've read many authors over the years, but the closest to my heart is Pat Conroy. Thank you sincerely for contributing to my life, such inspiration and love for the art of crafting words.
You're the master. .

I have been reading your books for years. My daughter is named Savannah because of you. My husband and I are both English teachers. Currently reading Beach Music aloud (as we make our way through all your works again). My son is now stationed at Goose Creek, so I will finally visit all the places. Thank you. The way you use words humbles me. I am happy to be an unabashed fan girl of your work.

I would be thrilled to hear that your next book is coming out soon. I've been dreaming a lot lately and the central theme is that I still have Chapter Two and we're expecting a huge crowd for a signing for you. I'm always so disappointed to wake up from that.

Your letter to Charleston was forwarded by my old and very good friend Winston Groom. The old man wouldn't have put it better, nor would have his friends Jim Jones, Jim Salter, Peter Matthiessen, Willie Morris, Bill Styron, Kurt Vonnegut nor... his old English teacher back in Brooklyn, Dave Driscoll. Thanks you, Sir.
