Can't wait to read your new book. It will, as always, be a delicious journey home for me who grew up in South Carolina and now live in New Orleans. In addition to our beloved lowcountry beauty, we have something else in common. Your book jacket photo was taken by our good friend David Spielman who has photographed my children at the great passages of their lives - so far. I'm sending my sister to one of the signings to get a copy for me - she still lives in SC. Best to you and your wife.

Looking foward to South of Broad. Hope to see you at the book signing here in Asheville at The Captain's Bookshelf. I can't think of anything better than the anticipation that comes with opening your books to the first page. I've read them all - and all have been a wonderful journey. You capture the soul of the south.

Looking forward to seeing you in Asheville. Missed the event when you were here in 2003.

Oh my goodness, Pat Conroy, what have you done now?
Rewritten Ulysses setting it down in the lowcountry?
Or written a fictional biography of Jimmy
Brynes?
At least, you didn't take a hike on the Appalachian Trail!
(I'm a native Newberrian and devoted fan after all you did for our Opera House!)
My regards and love to you, Cassandra, the Andersons and the Memory of Cooter!

I am overwhelmed with your work. Your use of desciptive adjectives is a true art. As a born southern, and a product of the strange southern code of living, I relate to your lonesome stories.

I hope someday I get to meet you at a book signing. I live in the cradle of the SOUTH, Franklin, Tennessee. I teach high school creative writing to students who still believe the south won the War of Northern Agression.

I look forward to your new book.

Mr Conroy- You amaze me by capturing both the beauty of the lowcountry and the chaos that can occur when you are not on the front porch drinking juleps and nibbling on cheese straws. You go a level deeper by understanding how we can love those who are your family although they inflict wounds that can never completely heal. You, sir, understand the finesse of a backhanded compliment.
I look forward to every book you publish, I devour it and then I hunger for the next.

Beach Music is one the best books I have read in a long time. I grew up in a southern beach community and I will always listen to the sound of beach music. You have inspired me to love the low country and to remember how unique southerners really are. We are a people of great heart and spirit. I cannot wait to read your new work.

Mr. Conroy...I'm a member of a small bookclub in Fairfax, VA called NOW (New Older Women)...we read books and often travel to the location of the story. We're already planning our trip to Charleston! At our retreat this year, we each invited a favorite author and you were my guest. I invited you because I love your storytelling so much...all of them...fact/fiction...and in anticipation of the movie of Beach Music. As well, we heard you speak at GMU in Fairfax a few years back. SC is fortunate to count you as one of its sons. BG

Mr. Conroy,
Since hearing you at my Graduation (Citadel 2001) you have inspired me. I am trying in earnest to start my quest to write about my own trials and tribulations. Hope to see you at the Charlotte, NC stop!

Beach Music is my favorite book of all time. I read an interview with Mr. Conroy once that he was working on the movie script for Beach Music. Does anyone know why the movie hasn't been made? Or, did I miss it?

Can't wait to see you in Atlanta in August. Your new site looks great. I would love to see this community grow with extra features like a message board for fans to discuss your works and other Pat Conroy things of interest.
