Just finished South of Broad today and loved it. I so enjoyed spending time with Leo King and his friends - quite a roller coaster of emotions...
Thank you

I waited for this book for years and enjoyed it very much but I question some of the language you use. Today's books are so filled with trashy talk that I never expected to read in one of your books. I choose my books carefully for language usage and was so disappointed that you felt you needed to use certain words that most people find offensive. Just because they're commonly used doesn't mean they're ok to use. I've always loved your wonderful writing and wish you had foregone the street language.

I look forward to every amazing book Mr. Conroy writes. This book moved me to tears and then to laughter, and the cycle kept repeating itself. It is poetry, it is picturesque, it is wonderful! Thank you for the wonderful days spent reading all your books.

I have always been a huge fan and have read all of Pat Conroy's books. We have a house on Fripp Island and one morning my mother (now deceased) met Pat Conroy on the beach very early and she so much enjoyed their conversation.

However, I have just read my last Pat Conroy book. The beautiful writing was overshadowed by the cheap story line. It is evident Mr. Conroy has a deep hatred of the Catholic faith - but why broadcast it? It seems very low and I feel sorry for him.

I have just finished reading South of Broad and have never enjoyed a book as much as this. My friends and business associates have been wondering where I've been for the last two days. I have family in Mt Pleasant and have always loved the Charleston area. Thank you so much for a wonderful and gripping story and I'm off to the bookstore to get Beach Music. Your characters from South of Broad will stay with me for a very long time.

Welcome Back!!!! You were sorely missed. Thank you for the incredible tour of Charleston and the wonderful characters who dwell there. While The Lords of Discipline will always be one of my favorite reads, South of Broad has once again established you as America's Best!!!!!!!

What can I say? what a wonderful, wonderful book! Just finished South of Broad & thought it was incredible! I read about 60 books a year, but this touched me like no other in the past few years. I hated to finish it because now I have to leave those characters behind. Again, I say incredible!!

My wife and I enjoyed seeing you and your wife in Atlanta at the Carter Center. I know it's a haul for you to come to Atlanta so thank you. I'm also enjoying your new book and am proud to be among the next generation of readers that will carry your message to the generation after that. I hope to read more letters from you on this site in the future.
Thanks
Scott

I enjoy all your books, but having lived in Beaufort (Laurel Bay) as the daughter of a fighter pilot from the same squadron as your Dad, my favorite all time book is of course "The Great Santini". My father had just retired the previous year when the movie was filmed on location - many of the extras in the background were members of my father's squadron and the scenery of Beaufort brings back wonderful memories.

I felt the need to let you know how much I liked South Of Broad. I really did hate to get to the last page. Hoping for a sequel. Thank you.
