I just finished "South of Broad". Your writing is so lyrical. I've read every book you've written and the song keeps getting more melodic with each book. I am not a weeping woman, nor am I very empathic. I have wept and hurt through this entire book. YOU sir, are a WRITER.... Thank you. Please don't wait another 14 years. I'm 78 and will have to read the next one in "another place".

God Bless your luminous gift.

I finished reading South of Broad this afternoon. I did not want it to end. I will miss Leo and his friends. Is there a possibility of a movie, I would love to see the characters in this book brought to life!

Leo King so reminds me of the kind of person that the Citadel is trying to build. Charleston is an amazing place and no matter how short or long you are there it leaves a mark. I am so happy my son survived his Knob year and can now relax and enjoy the magic that surrounds. I hope he has lots of Leo King's around him.

At anchor on the m/v Steel Magnolia. Just finished my second reading of Beach Music and knowing it'll be a while for Pat's newest novel to pass from hand to hand down to Guatemala. (sigh)

I was quite fortunate to have visited Charleston for the first time last year. It was so great to be able to connect Conroy's heartstricken writing with the actual places I'd just seen!

Just finished South of Broad today and loved it. I so enjoyed spending time with Leo King and his friends - quite a roller coaster of emotions...
Thank you

I waited for this book for years and enjoyed it very much but I question some of the language you use. Today's books are so filled with trashy talk that I never expected to read in one of your books. I choose my books carefully for language usage and was so disappointed that you felt you needed to use certain words that most people find offensive. Just because they're commonly used doesn't mean they're ok to use. I've always loved your wonderful writing and wish you had foregone the street language.

I look forward to every amazing book Mr. Conroy writes. This book moved me to tears and then to laughter, and the cycle kept repeating itself. It is poetry, it is picturesque, it is wonderful! Thank you for the wonderful days spent reading all your books.

I have always been a huge fan and have read all of Pat Conroy's books. We have a house on Fripp Island and one morning my mother (now deceased) met Pat Conroy on the beach very early and she so much enjoyed their conversation.

However, I have just read my last Pat Conroy book. The beautiful writing was overshadowed by the cheap story line. It is evident Mr. Conroy has a deep hatred of the Catholic faith - but why broadcast it? It seems very low and I feel sorry for him.

I have just finished reading South of Broad and have never enjoyed a book as much as this. My friends and business associates have been wondering where I've been for the last two days. I have family in Mt Pleasant and have always loved the Charleston area. Thank you so much for a wonderful and gripping story and I'm off to the bookstore to get Beach Music. Your characters from South of Broad will stay with me for a very long time.
